When the rescuer noticed Daphne’s inflamed eye, he knew he had to act swiftly to ensure her well-being. Recognizing that she needed specialized medical attention, he reached out to the Palo Alto Humane Society for financial support through our Vet Help program. Understanding the urgency of the situation, we agreed to assist and cover a portion of the cost of Daphne’s eye examination by a specialist.
An Expert Diagnosis:
Daphne’s journey took her to Vision Care for Animals in Palo Alto, where a compassionate and skilled veterinarian thoroughly examined her affected eye. Sadly, the diagnosis revealed that Daphne was blind in her right eye, and there was a risk of potential cancer that could also affect her good eye. To ensure Daphne’s healthy and happy future, the vet recommended the surgical removal of her blind eye, a procedure known as enucleation.
A Bright Future Ahead:
Despite the challenges Daphne faced, the enucleation surgery was deemed the best course of action to safeguard her well-being. The operation was carried out with utmost care, and Daphne displayed incredible resilience during her recovery period.
