At Palo Alto Humane (PAH), our mission is simple yet vital: To Inspire our Community to Connect Humanely with Animals. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to ensuring that every animal in our community receives the care and attention they deserve, regardless of their circumstances or the challenges their caretakers may face. Whether it’s providing financial assistance to families struggling to afford veterinary care for their pets or rescuing animals in need of immediate medical attention and shelter, we are here to help.
In 2023, Palo Alto Humane stretched our limited resources to respond to the desperate needs in our community. We provided funds to spay/neuter over 1200 animals, both family pets and community cats. Our Vet Help program provided financial assistance to more than 350 families, saving lives and providing essential veterinary care to their beloved pets. From critical cases like pyometra and parvo to much-needed wellness care like dental treatments and respiratory care, PAH is here to ensure the health and well-being of animals in our community.
Charlie, a beloved family dog, faced a dire diagnosis of canine parvovirus when he was brought to VCA by his concerned family. With limited financial resources, Charlie’s family reached out to us for assistance. Through our Vet Help program, we swiftly approved their need for funds, covering the crucial treatment costs for Charlie’s recovery.
Additionally, we extended our support by funding Charlie’s neuter procedure. Due to the collaborative efforts of PAH and VCA, Charlie received the care he needed, and today, he thrives.
As a nonprofit animal welfare organization, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to continue providing these vital services to our community. This year, we have set a goal of raising $150,000 to fund our animal support programs.
