MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. ANNUAL NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE—JANUARY 18, 2021

PAHS participated in the program sponsored by Youth Community Service and the City of Palo Alto – Public Agency with a new video about Dr. King and his concern for animal welfare.

PAHS also took part in the Oshman Family JCC’s “Mitzvah Day” that celebrates community service and the legacy of Dr. King with our video and a discussion about PAHS’ community and education outreach. Attendees helped local adoptable cats by creating fun toys for them—PAHS will distribute the toys among cat rescue organizations.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
