"Saving Travis" Featured at Local Girl Scout Troop

Scouts from Troop 60897 gathering at Lou Henry Hoover Girl Scout House Sunday, March 8 enjoyed a special treat when they met PAHS volunteer and author Rhea Sampson and the two canine protagonists—Shannon (Golden Retriever) and Travis (Rat Terrier mix)—of "Saving Travis: A Rescue Story." The Scouts listened to a reading of the book, watched Shannon as she did her tricks and enjoyed a tooth-brushing, sang along with Rhea as she accompanied them on her guitar, and cuddled with both dogs.

Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education.
