Sharing a Memory!—This Is Journey!

Palo Alto Humane Society rescued little Journey 8 years ago today when he and his family suddenly found themselves evicted, and homeless. We immediately put the word "out on the street" that Journey was temporarily housed at the local shelter under the care of Loreto Jaca. Within days, a newly formed rescue group—good friends of PAHS— pulled Journey and gave him all the love and care he needed. Journey was adopted within weeks. A short time later, Journey's adopters returned to the rescue group to find a compatible little brother to keep him company. Journey is one of many kittens in similar situations we at Palo Alto Humane Society have helped over the years.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
