PAHS Visits Champions Campers at Franklin Elementary in Burlingame

The PAHS team, consisting of Julie Forbes, Ph.D. and her canine companion Kermit, a rescued Greyhound, Patty Hurley, educational advisor, and Leonor Delgado, education manager, were onsite to meet the Champion campers Thursday, July 11. We were at the Burlingame site (https://www.discoverchampions.com/our-l…/burlingame/…/000685) to talk to the campers about animal rescue as a component of community service.

Everyone loved Kermit, our ambassador representing rescue dogs! And Kermit was in his glory! Julie and Patty shared rescue stories and modeled best practices for meeting and greeting a new dog. Campers also enjoyed watching the PAHS award-winning video It's a Dog's Day.

Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education.
