PAHS at Youth Community Service Make a Difference Day, Saturday, October 26

PAHS Education Manager Leonor Delgado and longtime volunteer Chris Corvetti, along with Chris' wonderful dog Rin, gathered at Mitchell Park Community Center to meet students from Palo Alto High School and Gunn High School (Palo Alto), Homestead High School (Cupertino) and Fletcher and Greene Middle Schools (Palo Alto).

These students learned about Rin's rescue in a small city in Mongolia where Chris served in the Peace Corps teaching local high school students. Rin was an anomaly—a canine companion living indoors and interacting with students and teachers.

As part of their service project, these students made blankets to be used by rescue and shelter dogs and cats and painted animal portraits following models or photographs they viewed on their phone. Some students painted members of PAHS' canine corps of volunteers!

Take a look at photos from the session as well as some of the students' work!
