All About Service Dogs—PAHS Critter Club at Costano Elementary, May 23

Suzanne Attenborough from Canine Companions for Independence visited Costaño to introduce the third graders in Ms. Egbert's class to Ivy, a 6-month old Golden Retriever puppy in training, and Wendell, a 7-year old Golden who could not qualify as a service dog because of a food allergy. The students asked all kinds of good questions about the two dogs and how service dogs are trained and what they do to help people. PAHS thanks Suzanne, Ivy, and Wendell for their service to us!

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education.
