Special Visitors at Critter Club, Thursday, November 8

Three little sisters, Inky (top), Zoe (bottom left), and Eva (bottom middle), joined the Critter Club teaching team, Janet Alexander from Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority and Leonor Delgado and Patty Hurley from PAHS at Beyond the Bell at Monta Loma Elementary in Mountain View, Thursday, November 8.

Janet, our invited guest, spoke to students from grades 2, 3, and 4 about SVACA's work in the community, with a special emphasis on the importance of spay and neuter. The focus was on homeless cats and kittens, their rescue and foster care, as well as feral freedom and how it helps community cats. The three kitten sisters, available for adoption at SVACA, are former fosters. The kids and the kitties enjoyed cuddles, purrs, and pets.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
