Gunn High School—Wednesday, April 18
PAHS education manager Leonor Delgado accompanied Isabelle Cnudde from Clorofil to address the PAWS (Animal Welfare) Club at the high school. Clorofil is one of PAHS’ education partners. Isabelle talked about the fate of hens and chicks in the egg industry and adopting hens rescued from factory farms as well as the kinds of actions concerned students can take to help these hens. We hope to visit PAWS again to discuss other issues related to farming and farm animals in the United States.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
