Simona is currently in her junior year at Paly (Palo Alto High School). During her sophomore year (2020–2021) she created a Canva presentation to spread awareness about the importance of fostering. She interviews 6 different fosterers and members of a rescue group. Most importantly, she wishes to create a resource for anyone wishing to foster. This way, people who may need assistance with starting to foster can refer to this presentation to learn about the responsibilities they will have and some of the resources that exist to help them.
Ins and Outs of Fostering
In addition to having created the presentation, Simona is an active member of Paly’s YCS-Interact Club. This club has worked with Palo Alto Humane Society to make dog toys and create portraits of adoptable animals. During the 2021–2022 school year, Simona plans to share her presentation with the club members and brainstorm different project ideas that will involve the club members.
