PAHS Celebrates National Dog Mom's Day (One Day Early) with the Scouts!

National Dog Mom's Day falls the second Saturday in May, and this year PAHS got a jump start by celebrating this special day Friday, May 10, with Brownie Troop 61197 at Ellis Elementary School in Sunnyvale.

In attendance were our volunteer rescued Greyhounds Kermit (with "mom" Julie Forbes, Ph.D.) and Rory (with "mom" Kathy McGinnis). The Brownies learned about dog rescue efforts and got tips on how to be safe around dogs and meet and greet a new dog! Kermit (black and white) and Rory (brindle) loved every moment of the visit, as did everyone else!

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
