How does it work?
Palo Alto Humane has a growing network of dedicated volunteer humans and their friendly pets who attend scheduled events. Events can be held almost anywhere. Visiting Pals most commonly visits schools, libraries, senior centers, and even offices!
At each event, well-socialized pets visit with groups of up to around 30 people. Participants have the opportunity to meet friendly canines, ask questions, and interact with them! This hands-on program brings companion animals to senior centers, mental health organizations, schools, libraries, and more.
Most of our Visiting Pals are canines and we occasionally have feline pals, too. Those felines typically visit after school programs at schools and libraries.
