Emergency Veterinary Help Program
Accidents happen.
Veterinary care can be alarmingly expensive.
Palo Alto Humane believes that no family should have to choose between caring for a beloved pet and an unaffordable vet bill. PAH also wants to keep pets in their loving homes and out of overcrowded shelters.
The emergency veterinary help program at PAH provides financial assistance for people facing unmanageable and urgent veterinary expenses for their pets. We pay directly to veterinary clinics and do our best to help as many animals as possible.

Spay and Neuter Program
Spaying and neutering dogs and cats is critical to control animal overpopulation. This procedure also has benefits for people’s pets. Spayed and neutered dogs and cats have a reduced risk of cancer and certain diseases and infections. This procedure can also contribute to a longer lifespan for your pet.
PAH’s spay and neuter efforts provide critical funding to cover sterilization procedures for both unhoused animals and those from low-income households.

Non-Emergency Help Line
This is not an emergency line.
PAH does not function as a veterinary clinic or an animal shelter.
A staff member will return voicemails as soon as possible based on incoming call volume.
If you have an emergency or critical care issue with your pet, please contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic. See a list of some emergencyclinics in Santa Clara County here.
