Troop 60144 Learns More About Cats at Kiddies 2 Kitties

Girl Scout Troop 60144 from Los Altos visited the cats and kittens at SVACA (Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority) in Santa Clara for a special Kiddies 2 Kitties session on Friday, May 26. PAHS education volunteer Reine Flexer and education manager Leonor Delgado had already met with the Scouts earlier in the year to talk about rescue of neighborhood abandoned cats and their kittens. The Kiddies 2 Kitties session was a follow-up to this earlier discussion.

The Scouts asked insightful questions about the population at the shelter of SVACA’s Outreach Coordinator Janet Alexander before they visited these adoptable animals—they especially loved the rabbit shown in the photo to the left. Meeting SVACA’s feline population was a fun challenge to the Scouts as they helped in socializing them. The Scouts were definitely up to this challenge, and the cats also very much enjoyed the experience!
