Maddie Joins the Crowd at Alex and Ani

The Alex and Ani fundraiser for PAHS at Stanford Shopping Center on Thursday, April 20, provided the opportunity for Maddie, a sweet and friendly older Labradoodle, to make her debut as a PAWS 2 PAHS volunteer. Accompanying Maddie was her person, Lucy Madaffari, who runs Tails Up Pet Care offering services on the mid-Peninsula. Lucy has also joined our volunteer team to provide information about dog care and socialization at educational visits and other venues.

PAHS thanks Lucy and Maddie and the staff at Alex and Ani—Sheena Myers and Genia Kollie—for the opportunity to partner with the store and for welcoming us there. We’re looking forward to future events!

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
