The cries of a single kitten came from the bushes of a Baylands trail yesterday. Officer Washington used her powers of mimicry to call out to her like a mama cat. She coaxed the scared kitten to move closer until eventually she was caught. A few minutes later the kitten was purring in safe arms and eating hungrily. Luckily this kitten is probably less than a month old which makes her easier to tame. It’s hard work to socialize older ones but it’s time well spent if they grow up to be loving companions.
