PET ADOPTION TRENDS DURING COVID-19
Local trends seem to buck national and international statistics, as Kasper Halevy, one of PAHS’ most active volunteers (and a student at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View), notes in “Pet adoption rates climb during pandemic, but problems persist.”
For this article, Kasper cites international sources and his interviews with Ann Chasson, president of The Dancing Cat, a PAHS rescue partner organization, and Janet Alexander, outreach coordinator at Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA), PAHS shelter partner in education, as well as PAHS education manager Leonor Delgado.
The article is published in The Terrier, the online showcase for stories reported and written by students attending Boston University’s Summer Journalism Academy. Read it at: https://busji.wpengine.com/pet-adoption-rates-climb-during-pandemic-but-problems-persist/
