This week, the California Department of Fish & Wildlife confirmed that a wild jackrabbit in Alameda County tested positive for Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus Type-2 (RHDV2).
This is the first confirmed case of RHDV2 in the San Francisco Bay Area and the 8th county in California to have a confirmed case.
If you live in the Bay Area, contact your veterinarian to inquire about getting your rabbit vaccinated.
