Fantastic session! Thank you to Jonathan and to Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue! And thanks too from the ACC (Animal Adoption Center) at Stevenson Elementary in Mountain View!

Molly and I taught a kid’s virtual “About Parrots” class for Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue and the Palo Alto Humane Society today (this photo is from the last one we taught in person, pre-COVID).
She’s such a good co-presenter. She’s super mellow and, unusual for an African Grey, takes everything in stride.
This was a small class of 1-3rd graders, all SUPER smart kids! They were asking great questions like “How is their vision different than ours? Can they see ultra-violet light?”
It was so much fun presenting to them.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
