Skunk was found severely injured, hiding under a bush, unable to walk, dragging his hind quarters, and clearly in pain. He was rushed to an emergency vet clinic where they diagnosed him with dislocated hips. Thanks to the ARF program covered by the Daisy Fund, Skunk was able to get surgery on both his hips, and a new lease in life.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education.
