NATIONAL WILDLIFE DAY—SEPTEMBER 4

NATIONAL WILDLIFE DAY—SEPTEMBER 4

National Wildlife Day (celebrated February 22 and September 4), founded in 2005 by animal behaviorist and philanthropist Colleen Paige, serves to bring awareness of endangered animals nationally as well as globally who need to be preserved and rescued from possible extinction each year. This holiday also acknowledges zoos and outstanding animal sanctuaries around the world for everything they do to help preserve this planet’s animals and educate the public about conservation, especially children—our animals’ future caretakers and conservationists.
