MILLIE’S TALE
The Saga of a Lucky Three-legged Cat

When a Stanford postdoctoral student saw a little family of community cats outside her apartment, she wanted them to have better lives. Palo Alto Humane Society helped her to humanely trap two of the teenage youngsters. The boy cat was neutered and returned to his feral family who are given daily food and water. But his sister Millie had a broken leg that was hanging uselessly and needed urgent amputation before infection spread. PAHS jumped in to help and reached out to a wonderful veterinarian, Dr. Grewal, at Animal Medical Center San Jose, who took pity on Millie’s predicament and stayed late into the evening to amputate her ruined leg. Millie is shown here right after her surgery, recovering with her kind rescuer. She is not yet accustomed to people or getting her photo taken. We invite you to follow Millie's fascinating story… updates coming soon.
