PAHS Mourns the Loss of Bol Park Donkey Jenny

We are very saddened to learn of Jenny’s passing. Along with her companion donkey Perry, Jenny was a beloved fixture at Bol Park, giving much joy to all visitors, friendly and always seeking pets. She and Perry provided the inspiration for the winning story in our first Ambassadors of Compassion story writing contest, and PAHS has contributed to the donkeys’ support and veterinary care. We hope that Perry, who is very lonely, will soon have a new and compatible companion.

Barron Park donkey Jenny dies after falling ill

Jenny, one of Palo Alto’s beloved donkeys who called the Barron Park neighborhood home, has died. She was euthanized on Wednesday after a two-week decline, according to her handlers.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
