YCS Visits Kiddies 2 Kitties

Middle school students participating in Palo Alto Youth Community Service's (YCS) summer program attended a Wednesday, July 17, special session of Kiddies 2 Kitties at Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority.

On hand to introduce them to many friendly adoptable cats and kittens were Janet Alexander, the shelter's outreach manager, and intern Chelsea, along with PAHS education manager Leonor Delgado and intern Aileen Gardiner. Not only did the students meet and greet cats and kittens, but they also shared quality time with two bonded shelter dogs, Peewee and Doc.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
