Today Is National Check Your Chip Day

Celebrated August 15 every year, National Check Your Chip Day promotes using microchip identification to protect your pets in case they are lost. In perfect tandem with this national holiday, the California State Senate has just passed SB 64, which requires animal control agencies or shelters to microchip pets before returning to family or being adopted.

ACTION ITEM: Contact your Assembly Member to make sure this bill passes the Assembly as well and makes it to the Governor's desk for his signature. Go to http://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/ to find and reach out to your Assembly Member.
