Thursday, November 5—Critter Clubs at Mariano Castro Elementary, Mountain View: Students Meet Thor!

Students enrolled in the Beyond the Bell after-school enrichment program at Mariano Castro Elementary had the opportunity to interact with K-9 Officer Thor from the Mountain View Police Department and learn all about Thor from his human companion officer and handler Curtis Lau. They heard about Thor's on-the-job duties, the training he received, and his life off the job as a household canine companion. For his part, Thor was very happy to participate in Critter Club again—he's an old hand at this—and get to meet new students.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
