Sophomore Project at Castilleja

Sophomores at Castilleja School celebrated the completion of their Community Connections (https://www.castilleja.org/learning/our-program/us/10th) project the evening of Tuesday, March 26. Invitees to the celebration included representatives of all the local nonprofits involved in the project, and PAHS' Carole Hyde (Executive Director) and Leonor Delgado (Education Manager) joined the students, parents, and community in the celebration.

Castilleja students had visited PAHS earlier in the year to conduct interviews to learn more about our organization. Throughout the process, the students modified their original conception of our mission and our work to create on-target messaging about us. The four photos below show their work in reverse order, with the final product appearing first.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
