Shadow Needs Help!

Shadow was adopted from Palo Alto Animal Services, now Pets In Need Palo Alto, nearly 3 years ago as a kitten. She was a happy, healthy kitten with no concerns. A few months after adoption, Shadow began showing signs of respiratory distress. When the vet examined her, she was diagnosed with asthma. Shortly after her treatment plan began, Shadow began acting out at home whenever it was time for her medication. In the last two weeks before the decision was made to surrender her, this behavior spilled over into all interactions the family was having with her.

The family was heartbroken to surrender her, but they are unwilling to accept Shadow back into their lives. Shadow desperately needs a committed, loving adopter to give her a chance to live. Pets In Need cannot keep her in their shelter much longer. Pets In Need is offering a financial help package to help with that if needed.

Socialization volunteers at Pets In Need have been working with Shadow extensively and they have had positive experiences. Shadow asks for love with head-butts and purrs. She loves to be groomed with a comb. She is an independent gal who wants to be your companion, but on her own terms. She will need ongoing medical care for her asthma.

If you are that special person with room in your heart and home for Shadow, please reach out urgently to vhidden@petsinneed.org.
