PAHS at Martin Luther King Day

Invited by Youth Community Service of Palo Alto, PAHS people Leonor Delgado and Arlene Esquivias, accompanied by PAHS therapy and education dog Minnie, attended the Martin Luther King Day events at Mitchell Park Community Center Monday, January 22. Visitors to the PAHS table had the opportunity to leaf through copies of "Saving Travis: A Rescue Story" and learn about the work PAHS does and ways in which they can help PAHS and local animals. Arlene, Leonor, and Minnie enjoyed the opportunity to meet local attendees and take part in the events.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
