Max Visits La Entrada Middle School!

As Max and his person Beth Philbin were exiting La Entrada Middle School in Menlo Park in time for all-school dismissal the afternoon of Friday, April 19, they were mobbed by students eager to meet Max and pet him. Max couldn’t be any happier!

Max and Beth were at the school with PAHS Education Manager Leonor Delgado to visit Ms. Pfannenstiel’s 4th-grade class currently working on an Adoptables Art project. Students are painting portraits of shelter-based animals up for adoption.

This class learned about Max—how a responsible breeder offered him to Laura, and the dangers of irresponsible breeding—puppy mills and backyard breeders. The students also shared their in-progress portraits.

The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education.
