Lessons About Dog Care Learned from Rita and Sydney

On Thursday, January 24, students participating in PAHS' Critter Club program through Beyond the Bell at Theuerkauf Elementary in Mountain View were treated to a visit from beautiful and gentle Golden Retriever Sydney and her person Rita Hitching.

Rita instructed the students in the responsibilities of caring for a dog, the safe way to meet and befriend a new dog, and the ways in which dogs are our lifelong friends and companions.

For her part, Sydney was thrilled to make so many new acquaintances, and she certainly showed her appreciation by accepting belly rubs and gentle hugs and pets!
