Annual National Black Dog Day—October 1
We celebrate National Black Dog Day to recognize the plight of black dogs overlooked in shelters for the same kind of superstitions associated with black cats. Black animals have a greater chance of never exiting shelters alive.
We'd like you to meet Rudy. He's a black lab mix who participates in our PAHS Therapy Paws program, a sweet older boy adopted as an adult. He's a loving participant at nearly all our events. We wish all black dogs were as lucky as Rudy, who lives in a loving and caring home and shows everyone he meets how wonderful black dogs can be!
