Shelter Visit and Socializing Cats and Kittens, November 16

PAHS and Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) welcomed a group of students from Living Wisdom High School of Palo Alto the afternoon of Thursday, November 16, for a special session. These students learned about the tasks at SVACA to shelter and adopt out animals and those performed by animal control officers in the communities the organization serves.

Special attention was given to PAHS' involvement in rescuing cats and kittens and in maintaining feral colonies and to SVACA's Happy Meowers' program in which semi-feral kittens are transformed into adoptable kittens. The students learned best practices to socialize cats and then were put on task! Cats, kittens, and kids had a wonderful time!

Two of the cats visited are Betty (bottom left) and Kimmy (bottom right)… and they're still available for adoption! They're sweet and lively adolescent companions who would welcome a kind and caring home.
