Local Animal Community Unites to Save JoJo!

JoJo, a frightened, abandoned, German Shepherd dog, found his way to Palo Alto Animal Services. Rescuers learned of his plight, and Joe Lee from M.I.T Mixed Breed Rescue, which was just shy of receiving 501 c 3 status, appealed to PAHS and friends to help save JoJo. Cody Macartney from Animal Services lent his support, and Deborah Buck stepped up to offer a rescue option so JoJo could leave the shelter with Joe Lee. As for us at Palo Alto Humane Society, we provided a neuter voucher and paid for other veterinary expenses for JoJo who had suffered a minor injury. JoJo is now happily settled in his “furever” home.

Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education.
