- PAHS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that receives no state or federal funding.
- PAHS life-saving programs keep animals from being abandoned on the street or in a shelter.
- PAHS operates the largest charitable spay/neuter assistance program in the Peninsula, saving thousands of animals each year from a difficult life on the street or in the shelter.

The Better Business Bureau Standard for Nonprofit Accountability recommends that at least 65 cents of every dollar (65%) be used for funding priorities. With PAHS, 73% of every dollar donated goes directly toward funding priorities: humane programs and services.
